Nallur Kandaswamy Temple 2025 Annual Festival is going to take place as a 25 days festival in the month of July 2025. Thios annual festival will start on 29th of July in this year. The festival will be concluded on 22nd of August.. Preparations for this Annual Festival wille be done by the Nallur Temple Authorities along with the Jaffna Municipal Council.. Jaffna, Nallur Temple festival used to start on the sixth day following the "Aadi Amavasi Viratham" day (Tuesday 24th July 2025). During the festival days, footwear safe keepers may request Rs 100/- per pair from the tourists. In the meantime, if you want to go near the parading deity, men are requested not to wear shirts or T-shirts. Temple Authorities expect the visitors to come in with Hindu traditional dresses for the festival. During the Nallur Ther Festival day, Auto drivers charged double their rates and the Tea boutique owners too doubled their tea and short eats prices around the Nallur Temple area.

On Tuesday, 28/07/2025, Nallur Kandaswamy Temple will celebrate the Vairavar Pooja, which is the first ritual day in the Annual festival of 2025.

At the begining of the Nallur Murugan Kovil Festival, temple authorities used to welcome the Jaffna municipal council officials to participate in the festival. Jaffna Municipal council used to prepare the festival roads, lighting and to assist the devotees with their health. Moreover, during the festival time, all the roads surrounding the Nallur temple are restricted for vehicle movements and the vehicle users must use alternative roads.Security personal used to be deployed in and around the temple to catch pick pocketers and the Gold jewel snatchers. Colombo - Jaffna Train Service.
Diect Colombo - Jaffna train service is now running full strech at the speed of 120 Km/h.

Normally Colombo - Jaffna A/C Express Train ticket price is Rs 3,200/- . Tickets can be reserved 30 days prior to your travel date.
NIC / Passport is Required to make train seat reservation. (Take note, Sri Lanka Railway unions used to go on sudden strikes)
Yarldevi Train ticket price First Class A/C Rs 2,800/- Second Class price Rs 1,900/-.
In addition on weekends Yal Nile Express train will operate on Jaffna Colombo route.( First Class Rs 4,000/-, Second Class Rs 3,000/- and Third Class is Rs 2,000/-)
Two trains with the name as Vavuniya Intercity and Vavuniya Night mail too will operate up to Jaffna.
Special Tourist Train Yal Nila from Colombo. Ticket Price: Rs 4,000/- (Departure at 10:00pm from Fort Railway station.

Colombo - Jaffna, Luxury BUS ticket price is between Rs 3,000/- up to Rs 4,000/- for a person one way.
In Colombo, Jaffna bound Express busses will start from Wellawatte, Moratuwa, Kotahene and from Colombo Central Bus Stand (Pettah).
Night time Colombo to Jaffna Bus starting time is from 8:00 PM up to 9:00 PM.
Meanwhile Jaffna to Colombo busses will start from Jaffna New Bus Stand located at Muneeswaran (Muniyappar) Temple Road.
Starting time from 8:00 PM up to 9:00 PM.
Nearly all the night time running busses will stop at Puttalam for refreshments and Coffee.
