This M-Ticketing service is specially available for the SLT Megaline customers that be achieved through their phone lines from their homes or offices. *Unexpected strikes can make your journey to be cancelled. This is due to Sri Lanka's economical situation. On the other hand there used to be bus services on the train strike days and it can be crowded ones. Jaffna - Colombo train service is now distrupted between Anuradhapura and Mahava. Direct Colombo to Jaffna train service will be started once again by July 2024. Till then for direct service can use connecting Bus Transport between these stations. This is an extension of Mobitel's M-Ticketing service to SLT customers. The service is now offered to SLT Megaline customers. If you are a Megaline customer, you can now simply reserve your intercity express train tickets from your SLT telephone simply by dialing 1265.

How to register Train Ticket with SLT?
Call 1265 to register with SLT Contact Center for the service by giving your N.I.C. number and name.
You can nominate people for the service by providing the names and the N.I.C. numbers of nominees eg: Family members.

How to reserve tickets?

• Call 1265 from your SLT land phone and press "2" to choose the service.
• New ticket reservations are available from 10.00am daily.

How to collect the reserved train tickets?
Tickets can be collected from any of the following ticket issuing locations.

• SLTMobitel locations with Mobitel presence
• Mobitel locations
• Railway Stations near to you, with ticket printing facility.
• Mobitel authorized dealers too can provide Train Ticket reservation.
• In addition, Singer Mega showrooms too can assist you.

Applicable Charges for Sri Lanka Train ticket reservation:

• 1265 calling charges - Rs 8.00
• Ticket Price - Normal train ticket charge
• SLT service charge - 15% of ticket price.

Your Credit limits

• SLT Prestige customers are allowed to purchase tickets up to a credit limit of Rs. 3,500/- per month.
• Other customers can purchase tickets up to a credit limit of Rs. 2,500/- per month.

Important Notice.

• Train Ticket reservation is available for SLT Megaline residential customers only.
• To avail them of the service Postpaid customer's arrears for the last 30 days should be less than Rs. 400 and prepaid customers should have the required prepaid balance.

• Number of tickets per NIC/per phone number is five per journey.
• Only full tickets are available and children who are above 3 years should obtain full tickets.

Sri Lanka Train Ticket Cancellations

• All the train ticket cancellations are handled by SLR.
• Calling charges or service fees are not refundable on cancellation of tickets.
• If the train service is canceled SLR will provide full refund of the ticket price.
• If the customer wants to cancel the train ticket, 75% of the ticket value only will be refunded by SLR.
• Booking for warrant and SLR passes cannot be done through this service.
• If a ticket is lost, a duplicate ticket will not be issued under any circumstance.
• If a customer is using the ticket for official travel, he/she should be advised to keep a copy of the ticket for reimbursement as the original is collected at the rail station.
• Above mentioned charges are exclusive of taxes. Relevant taxes will be applicable at the time of ticket purchase.

* Ticket and Reservation charges are subject to be increased due to VAT that was implemented in this year 2024.
